Just came back from going to see 'Big Fish' with the hubby and L & D. While I enjoyed 'Lord of the Rings' quite a lot and thought it was a truly fantastic movie, 'Big Fish' just came out of left field and socked me one. I hadn't really know very much about the movie other than it had tall tales and Ewan McGregor, and well, my brain got stuck at 'Ewan McGregor'. There was a review that mentioned it being a modern day 'Wizard of Oz' and I dismissed that, to some extent. The buzz was good but then again those sorts of things should always be taken with a grain of salt. But after seeing this...I begin to wonder if that particular reviewer didn't have it just a little right. It might very well turn out to be that modern day 'Wizard of Oz'. It might not, but...I definitely recommend seeing it. Just...bring kleenex.
